    Stops

    1. North Campus Neighborhood

Your first year on campus is most likely going to be spent in a living center in the north neighborhood of the Allendale campus. It’s the perfect place to start your Grand Valley career and puts you close to classrooms and labs, our state-of-the-art library, the rec center, dining options, advising, and other support services. You’ll build friendships and a sense of community while being close to all the things that make college life so memorable and rewarding like sporting events, intramurals, student life events, and performing arts events.

    2. Traditional-style Housing

The theme of traditional-style living is "community", because a major part of the college experience is meeting people that will care about and support you beyond graduation.

Traditional-style living centers provide a community-driven experience, and a walk down the hallway of any of our traditional living centers will tell that story. It’s common to see room doors propped open, hear music playing, and students hanging out or studying in the lounges. Although traditional-style buildings have community bathrooms, we offer private shower rooms that have a toilet, shower, and sink. Here are our traditional-style living centers.

    3. Cluster-Style Housing

While cluster-style living is similar to traditional-style, it is definitely a unique experience.

Similar to traditional-style, cluster fosters a welcoming and vibrant Laker community. It’s common to see room doors propped open, hear music playing, people talking across the hall, and hanging out or studying in the lounges.

Holton-Hooker is one of Grand Valley's newest additions, and is currently the only cluster-style option on campus. Like traditional living, it has community-style bathrooms but offers lockers, private shower rooms, and fewer students per bathroom.

A section of cluster-style rooms are reserved for first-year Honors College students, due to Holton-Hooker's centralized campus location.

    4. Suite-Style Housing

If you like the idea of living with three roommates but want a little more privacy, suite-style living is a fantastic compromise.

Suite-style living consist of two students per fully-furnished room, and four students per suite with a shared bathroom. Think of it as a smaller community baked in to the larger one!

A meal plan is included with this style and each room has its own sink. You can learn about each suite-style building below:
