    1. Admissions Office

      Start your campus tour at the Admissions Building, where your journey to becoming a Blazer begins. Follow this guided walking tour and experience what makes Valdosta State a place students are proud to call home.

    2. Nevins Hall

      Follow the crosswalk across Patterson St past the front lawn to Nevins Hall. Home to VSU's Computer Science, Data Science, Sociology & Anthropology, and Environmental Geosciences programs, Nevins Hall is where innovation and discovery come together. The building features a planetarium that hosts public presentations and an observation deck that opens for special celestial events, including eclipses, comets, and other astronomical phenomena.

    3. West Hall

      Continue along the sidewalk to West Hall. A campus landmark and one of VSU's most iconic buildings, West Hall is home to VSU's English, History, Political Science, and Modern & Classical Languages programs. Many Dual Enrollment classes are also held here, making West Hall a familiar starting point for future Blazers.

    4. Bailey Science Center

      Continuing past West Hall, you'll arrive at the Hugh C. Bailey Science Center. Completed in 2001 as a $32 million project, the facility features state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms and is home to VSU's Biology and Chemistry programs.

    5. Powell Hall

      To the right of the Bailey Science Center stands Powell Hall, one of VSU's most historic buildings. Originally built as the university library, Powell Hall was funded through the Works Progress Administration (WPA) during the Roosevelt administration. Construction was completed in 1940, and the building was dedicated in 1941 by First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

      Today, Powell Hall serves as a vibrant teaching, learning, and performance space for VSU's Department of Music. The beautifully renovated facility features student gathering areas, practice and rehearsal rooms, a music education classroom, a jazz ensemble room, a conference room, and a recital hall with seating for up to 200 guests. It is also home to approximately half a million dollars' worth of new pianos, providing students with exceptional spaces to learn, perform, and collaborate.

    6. The Whitehead Camellia Trail

      Just past Powell Hall, you'll discover the Whitehead Camellia Trail, one of VSU's most treasured natural landmarks. The trail began as a Christmas gift to Georgia State Womans College in 1944, when Mrs. Jewel Whitehead donated 150 camellia plants and personally planted them among the pine trees on the north end of campus. Today, the trail continues to showcase beautiful blooms each season, offering a peaceful place to stroll and enjoy one of the university's most enduring traditions.

    7. Reade Hall

      Across the street from the Whitehead Camellia Trail, you'll find Reade Hall, one of VSU's most unique residence halls. Named in honor of VSU's third president, Frank Robertson Reade, this residence hall is located along the Pedestrian Walkway and serves as home to students in the Honors Program. Reade Hall also features a classic Pac-Man arcade game in its main lobby, adding a fun and memorable touch to the student living experience.

    8. Georgia Hall

      Continuing past Reade Hall, you'll arrive at Georgia Hall, one of VSU's newest residence halls. Located just off Georgia Avenue, Georgia Hall is home to both first-year students and upperclassmen. The residence hall offers a variety of living options, including semi-private suites for four residents and private suites for two, providing students with a comfortable and modern place to call home.

    9. Farbar Hall

      Next to Georgia Hall, you'll find Farbar Hall, home of Marriage & Family Therapy and the FamilyWorks Clinic. The clinic provides affordable, high-quality counseling services for individuals, couples, and families, including children as young as 3 years old. Offering both telehealth and in-clinic appointments, FamilyWorks Clinic provides services on a sliding-fee scale, with fees ranging from $0 to $20 per session. Walk-in services are also available at no cost, making mental health support more accessible for the community.

    10. Palms Dinning Hall

      Continuing along the pathway, you'll arrive at Palms Dining Hall, where students gather to enjoy a variety of dining options. The Palms offers an all-you-care-to-eat experience featuring fresh, flavorful choices every day. From made-to-order favorites like pizza and sandwiches to home-style meals, pastas, soups, and a 40-item salad bar, students can always find something to satisfy their cravings.

    11. Hopper Hall

      Located between Palms Dining Hall and the Student Union, Hopper Hall offers convenient suite-style living with easy access to some of campus' most popular destinations, including dining, the VSU Bookstore, and student services. The building also houses the main student mailroom, The Drop, and the central office for Housing and Residence Life, making it a hub for student life and support.

    12. Ashley Hall

      Following the sidewalk across the street from Hopper Hall, you'll find Ashley Hall, home to the Main Campus Student Advising Center and several academic departments. Ashley Hall houses VSU's History, Philosophy & Religious Studies, and Women's & Gender Studies programs, providing students with resources and support for both academic success and exploration.

    13. Converse Hall

      Follow the sidewalk down past Ashley Hall and you will arrive at Converse Hall, home to academic and administrative spaces for the Department of Psychology and Counseling, the Graduate School, and Sponsored Programs and Research Administration. The building supports student learning, research, and academic advancement across several areas of the university.

    14. Student Union

      Continuing along the pathway, you'll pass a large grassy area called Converse Square where many student activities are held. Then you will arrive at the Student Union, the heart of campus life at VSU! Located in the center of campus, the Student Union is where students gather, connect, and make memories. Whether grabbing a bite to eat, meeting friends in a lounge space, joining a student organization, or accessing campus resources, the Student Union is a place where Blazers come together. It features dining options, programming spaces, and student support services including Student Life, Career Opportunities & Volunteer Services, the Blazer Pantry, and the Office of the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs.

    15. Odum Library

      Follow the sidewalk to the left of the Student Union to arrive at Odum Library, the academic heart of Valdosta State University. More than just a place to study, Odum Library is a hub for learning, research, collaboration, and quiet reflection. Students have access to an extensive collection of more than 530,000 volumes, print and electronic journals, government documents, archives, maps, multimedia resources, and over 64,000 full-text online journals through GALILEO. Through the University System of Georgia's Universal Catalog and GIL Express, students can also borrow materials from libraries across the state, giving them access to millions of additional resources. Whether you're preparing for an exam, working on a group project, or finding your next favorite study spot, Odum Library has the resources and spaces to help you succeed.

    16. Fine Arts Building

      Follow the sidewalk behind Odum Library to arrive at the Fine Arts Building, the creative heart of campus. Home to VSU's Theatre, Music, and Art programs, this vibrant space is filled with creativity and performance. The building features an art gallery, performance halls, a lab theatre, practice rooms, and artist studios where students bring their talents to life. Each summer, it also becomes home to Peach State Summer Theatre, making VSU the only university in Georgia to host a professional musical theatre company on its campus.

    17. Lowndes Hall

      Follow the sidewalk back toward Odum Library, then turn right to arrive at Lowndes Hall. Conveniently located near both Odum Library and the Fine Arts Building, Lowndes Hall is a two-story residence hall designed for first-year students. The hall features a covered back patio with picnic tables, creating the perfect spot to study, relax, meet friends, or enjoy student programs throughout the year.

    18. Patterson Hall

      Directly next to Lowndes Hall is Patterson Hall, a traditional-style residence hall that offers a classic college living experience. Patterson Hall features in-room sinks, community bathrooms, and a spacious lobby where students can study, relax, and connect with friends. The building also includes a classroom, music practice rooms, and Resident Assistants who help foster a welcoming, supportive community throughout the year.

    19. Brown Hall

      Directly across from Patterson Hall, you'll find Brown Hall, a traditional-style residence hall designed for first-year students. Brown Hall offers a classic campus living experience with modern updates, including newly renovated bathrooms featuring individual pods with private bathroom and shower spaces for added comfort and convenience.

    20. Back to Admissions Parking Lot

      After visiting Brown Hall, follow the sidewalk back across Patterson Street to complete your tour at the Admissions Building.
