    1. Turner Gym

      Originally built in 1970, the Fred J. Turner Gymnasium underwent a massive renovation in 2000 and now offers 160,000 square feet of modern space for physical education and athletics.

      The gym features practice and game courts for volleyball and basketball, squash courts, a suspended 1/10 mile indoor track, a fitness center, an aquatic center, and more.

       

      The Parker Campus Center in Turner Gym is also a popular spot for studying and relaxing after school.

    2. Athletic Hall of Fame

      Located in Turner Gym, the Breithaupt Athletic Hall of Fame honors Wildcat alumni and coaches who have made a lasting and remarkable impact on athletics at Westminster. In addition to recognizing Hall of Fame recipients, the main hallway in Turner features trophies and other accolades from our teams. With more than 290 state championships, the Wildcats are the most awarded athletic program in Georgia. The Hall of Fame was dedicated in 2000 to Charlie Breithaupt, former teach, coach, Master of the Boys’ Dorm, and principal of the Boys School.

    3. Pool and Aquatic Center

      The Pete Higgins Pool at the Merrill Aquatic Center is an Olympic-size swimming pool—hosting both P.E. classes and swim meets—as well as a separate diving well.

    4. Climbing Wall

      The Smith Family Climbing Wall is used for Discovery and P.E. classes, as well as team-building activities.

    5. Training Room

      The Hawkins Training Room is home to one of the finest athletic training staffs in the state. Our certified athletic trainers take care to ensure that every Westminster athlete is in top shape and receives optimal care for any condition requiring rehabilitation, and the staff also provides training and fitness advice and plans.

    6. Fitness Room

      The Ellis Fitness Room has approximately 6,000 square feet of space with more than 40 machines and 22 pieces of cardiovascular equipment. Our professional strength and conditioning staff is on hand to coach, advise, ensure safety, and guide students to peak levels of fitness.

    7. Squash Courts

      Westminster is the only school in the state of Georgia to offer squash as an interscholastic sport. The Hardin and McGuirk Squash Courts in Turner Gym provide space for practice and allow us to host and compete in events,

    8. Thompson Stadium

      Alfred E. Thompson Sr. Stadium and Fritz Orr Field have been home to Wildcat football, lacrosse, soccer, and track and field events since 1980. The stadium was completely renovated in 2020 with new home seating, press box, and concessions stand.
    9. Baseball Stadium

      Home of the four-time state champion BatCats, the baseball field was dedicated in 1993, in memory of founding trustee Welborn Cody. The baseball stadium was dedicated in 1999 in honor of former coach and athletic director Harry Lloyd.

    10. Broyles Field

      This large field, situated between Broyles Arts Center and Turner Gym, serves as a practice space for sports and a community gathering area for events like WestFest, our annual outdoor music festival. It is also the site of the traditional last-day-of-school mudslide for seniors!
    11. Softball Field

      The softball field was dedicated in memory of Mildred Neal Scott, mother of Mary Ann Scott '13 and Emma Scott '16. The dedication served to celebrate her devotion to her family, friends, and Westminster family.
    12. Kent Field

      Laurence F. Kent Field, often referred to as "The Back Field," is used by many Wildcat sports teams for practices and scrimmages throughout the year.
    13. Lacrosse Field

      Located on Nancy Creek Road at the Westminster Summer Camp facility, this state-of-the-art turf field is lined for use by both boys and girls teams.
    14. Koshewa Trail

      This running/walking trail is named for beloved Westminster cross country coach Paul Koshewa, a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Coach Kosh’s illustrious teaching and coaching career at Westminster spanned 35 years. Kosh Trail is approximately 1.9 miles long and circles the Westminster campus.
    15. Front Tennis Courts

      Located near the front gate of Westminster, this facility features 10 hard-surface courts for practice, match, and tournament play. The Alan M. Simons Tennis Gazebo completes this primary hub for Wildcat tennis.
