    1. Pauahi Hall

      Welcome to our tour of the Academy for grades 9 – 12! We’ll stop by the various buildings and learning spaces used primarily by our Academy students.

      Easily recognized by its unique buff and blue dome, Pauahi Hall houses English classrooms and faculty offices, and is the home of Ka Punahou (Academy newspaper) and the Oahuan (Academy yearbook).

    2. Bingham Hall and Griffiths Hall

      Bingham Hall provides classroom space for math, while Griffiths Hall serves the foreign language and social studies programs.

    3. Cooke Hall and Alexander Hall

      Cooke Hall is home to offices for Academy administrators, staff and teachers.

      Alexander Hall houses classrooms, the Academy deans’ offices, College Counseling and the attendance office.

    4. Athletics

      This point is located next to the Pratt Aquatic Center and

      Waterhouse Pool. This Olympic-sized, 50 meter by 25 yard pool is the largest of any school in the state of Hawai‘i at more than a million gallons.

      Seating 1,800, Hemmeter Fieldhouse is designed for basketball, volleyball, general physical education and student assembly use. The 20,000 square foot gym is configurable for one main competition court, or up to three practice courts.

    5. Dole Hall, Chapel and Luke Center for Public Service

      Thurston Memorial Chapel serves as the spiritual heart of Punahou. The 500-seat chapel is used for Chapel Program services, school performances and faculty and staff meetings. The chapel area also includes a “roundhouse” classroom, an open courtyard and chaplains’ offices.


      Dole Hall provides cafeteria, snack bar and dining facilities for all students, faculty and staff. It includes three cafeteria spaces, the intimate “Senior Dining Room” used by grades 1 – 3, the main cafeteria and the faculty dining room. The bookstore – called the Buff ’n Blue Store – is also located in the building.

    6. Dillingham Hall

      Dillingham Hall is the theater space for Punahou School, housing a 640-seat auditorium with a 32' proscenium orchestra pit, as well as an intimate drama workshop, a scene shop, a costume shop with over 10,000 costumes, and offices for the theater program.

      It is used by all grade levels for assemblies, as well as for dance and music programs. Co-curricular programs often use this performance venue for recitals.

    7. Old School Hall and Mamiya Science Center

      Built in 1851, Old School Hall was the second building to be built on Punahou’s campus.


      The Mamiya Science Center houses 14 science classrooms and laboratories, the 250-seat Cornuelle Lecture Hall and the Richardson Learning Lab.
