    1. Brotman Hall (BH)

      Welcome to California State University, Long Beach (CSULB)!

      Brotman Hall (BH) the administrative center of the university

      The Office of University Outreach & School Relations (UOSR) is located in BH room 289. UOSR is the primary guest relations and student recruitment center for CSULB which oversees the following:

      • Tours and school visits
      • Advise prospective high school and transfer students on the application process, admission requirements, and key dates and deadlines.
      • Recruit a diverse and talented pool of high-achieving prospective students

    2. University Student Union (USU)

      University Student Union (USU) is the central hub for student clubs and organizations. It is currently under construction, with plans to open in August 2028.

    3. University Bookstore (BKS)

      Bookstore

      At the Bookstore, students can access digital and physical textbooks, purchase CSULB merchandise and gift items, and find the latest technology, equipment, and accessories in The Beach Tech computer store.

       

    4. Amazon @ the Beach

      Amazon @ The Beach is a pick-up and drop-off location for Amazon orders.

    5. College of Liberal Arts (CLA)

      College of Liberal Arts (CLA)

      The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) is the largest college on campus and home to such departments as English, History, Psychology, and Ethnic Studies. Many of your GE courses will be taught in these buildings.

      • The Psychology Building houses the Ethnic Studies, Human Development, Linguistics, Psychology and Sociology departments. The Psychology Resource Office is located on the 2nd floor of the building.
    6. University Library (LIB)

      University Library

      The Library consists of six floors, a coffee café and the Spidell Technology Center computer lab. Students have access to more than one million periodicals and books, an online catalog, computers, and digital research databases and resources.

      2nd floor is where the Graduate Student study area is located. There is also the Family Friendly Study Area, a kid-friendly environment that provides books, toys and educational computer workstations.

      5th floor is where the University Honors Program is located.

       

    7. College of Education (CED)

      College of Education (CED)

      The College of Education offers departments in Advanced Studies in Education & Counseling, Educational Leadership, Liberal Studies and Teacher Education. The Liberal Studies program provides a specialized curriculum that helps students complete their bachelor’s degree and teaching credential. The Bob and Barbara Ellis Fund also awards scholarships annually to credential students.

    8. Fine Arts (FA) Buildings

      Fine Arts (FA)

      The College of the Arts (COTA) is one of the largest, most comprehensive state-supported art schools in the country and is comprised of the following departments: Art, Dance, Design, Cinematic Arts, Music and Theatre Arts.

    9. Student Success Center (SSC)

      Student Success Center (SSC)

      The SSC is the central location for students to access academic resources and services.

      The SSC also houses six federally funded TRIO and Migrant Programs.

      Available services include:

      1st floor: Bob Murphy Access Center for students with disabilities, Learning Center for academic support services, and the University Center for Undergraduate Advising for academic advising.

      2nd floor: Educational Opportunity Program, Learning Assistance Center, Men’s Success Initiative, University Writing Center, Dream Success Center and the BUILD research program.

       

    10. Science Complex

      Science Complex

      The science complex is a part of the College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics. The Molecular & Life Sciences Center (MLSC) and Hall of Science (HSCI) buildings make up the science complex.

      Molecular & Life Sciences Center (MLSC)

      The Molecular & Life Sciences Center houses cell, molecular, and physiology research laboratories in cell/molecular biology, genetics, immunology and physiology.

      Hall of Science (HSCI)

      The Hall of Science houses departments such as Environmental Sciences and Physics & Astronomy. CSULB’s Hall of Science is one of the most modern science complexes in the U.S. This teaching and research facility houses 22 research laboratories, 31 teaching laboratories, two 180-seat lecture halls, two 80-seat lecture halls, multiple greenhouses and the Shark Lab.

    11. College of Health and Human Services (CHHS)

      College of Health and Human Services (CHHS)

      The majority of Health & Human Services faculty offices and classes— including those for Health Science, Physical Education and Recreation & Leisure Studies—are located here.

    12. Engineering (EN) Buildings

      College of Engineering (COE)

      There are five main College of Engineering buildings—Engineering 2, 3, and 4; Engineering and Computer Science; and the Vivian Engineering Center. In addition to the Engineering Student Success Center where students can go for tutoring, advising, and professional development, the college also features departments in Biomedical, Chemical, Civil and Construction Management, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical and Aerospace.

    13. Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC)

      Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC)

      The SRWC is a 125,000 square foot facility that has a 30-foot rock climbing wall, an indoor quarter-mile track, five basketball courts, a beach volleyball court, and two pools and a 20-person Jacuzzi. The SRWC has fitness classes such as Pilates, yoga, spin, Zumba and more. Each year the SRWC hosts Owen’s Condition for Tuition which offers students a chance to enter a drawing to win a free semester of tuition.

    14. The Horn Center

      The Horn Center

      The Horn Center operates the largest open-access computer lab in the CSU system. The facility also houses the Technology Help Desk.

    15. LBS Financial Credit Union Pyramid (PYR)

      Pyramid

      The Walter Pyramid is CSULB’s 18-story event center with three full basketball courts and five volleyball courts. Home to our Division I women’s and men’s basketball and volleyball teams, students can attend home games for free with their Student ID, to show their beach pride.

    16. College of Business (COB)

      College of Business (COB)

      The College of Business (COB) is one of the largest colleges of business in the country. It houses a variety of departments such as Accountancy, Information Systems, Marketing, Management and more. The Center for Student Success provides free tutoring for business courses such as finance, accounting, business calculus and statistics.

    17. Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden (JG)

      Japanese Garden

      The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is inspired by the natural beauty of Japanese landscapes. The garden, koi pond and traditional teahouse are open to current students for free and open to the public for a small fee.

    18. Housing & Residential Life (HRL) Buildings

      University Housing

      Living on campus is convenient and engaging. Housing options include traditional and suite style residence halls as well as thematic communities that provide residents an opportunity to share common personal, cultural, social and intellectual interests. Amenities include free cable, Wi-Fi, and recreation areas as well as a coffeehouse, convenience store and dining facilities. Contact the housing office for information about requirements, exemptions, and housing tours.

      Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS)

      The Family and Consumer Sciences facility houses majors such as Child Development, Fashion Merchandising and Nutrition & Dietetics. This facility is where the Child & Family Center is located which offers training to early childhood professionals and quality childcare services primarily for CSULB employees.
