    Learning Communities are designed to bring students with a shared interest together and, most importantly, provide a feeling of home.

    1. Welcome to UVM

      Learning Communities are built around a common theme, academic engagement, and easily accessible events and activities coordinated by a dedicated program staff. There are 9 Learning Communities:

    2. McAuley

      Address: 252 Colchester Ave

      Description: Located on North/Central Campus, McAuley Hall is one of seven buildings that house our students in the Arts & Creativity Learning Community. This residence hall is also home to the campus main desk, Northside Dining facility, and a collaborative student common space referred to as the “Great Room”.

    3. University Heights North

      Address: 30 University Heights

      Description: Located on Athletic Campus adjacent to the Patrick Gym, University Heights North serves as homes to students in the Honors College Learning Community. The complex received LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Fun fact: The University Heights outdoor amphitheater and green roof are popular gathering spots with great views of the Green Mountains. 

    4. Mason/Simpson/Hamilton

      Address: 438 S Prospect St

      Description: Home to the Redstone Unlimited Dining facility, the Mason/Simpson/Hamilton residence halls house our students in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Learning Community. The Multipurpose Room and dynamic lounge spaces can be used to hold events, facilitate meetings, or lead study groups.

    5. Millis

      Address67 Spear St.

      Description: Located on Athletic Campus adjacent to the Patrick Gym, the Harris/Millis residence hall houses two Learning Communities, Leadership & Social Change and Sustainability. In this hall, students can enjoy unique views of the mountains in the common area and take advantage of the “Harris/Millis Garage”, a fully-equipped classroom space that opens up to the common area. The residence hall is also home to Harris/Millis Dining, conveniently located downstairs of the building.

       

    6. Living/Learning Center

      Address: 633 Main St

      Description: This complex offers a mixture of suite-style residences for students, co-op spaces like pottery and photography, as well as offices integral to the student academic experience like the Office of International EducationMosaic Center for Students of Color and the UVM PRISM Center. This building is home to two Learning Communities, Cultural Crossroads and the Liberal Arts Scholars Program. Campus eateries like the Marche and The Skinny Pancake make L/L a dining destination for people all over campus. 

    7. Wing/Davis/Wilks

      Address: 486 S Prospect St

      Description: Our Wing/Davis/Wilks residence hall is located on Redstone Campus and is one of four halls that house our students in the Outdoor Experience Learning Community. This residence hall showcases an abundance of indoor plants and trees, a skylight roof, and a newly renovated common area for students.

    8. Central Campus Residence Hall

      Address: 170 Carrigan Dr

      Description: Opened in 2017, the Central Campus Residence Hall houses nearly 700 students in the Wellness Environment Learning Community and is located in the heart of UVM’s academic campus, adjacent to classroom buildings and academic facilities (including a bridge/connector to Howe Library). The residence hall is also home to a dining facility and fitness center. 

    9. Marsh-Austin-Tupper

      Address: 31 Spear St

      Description: Located on Athletic Campus, Marsh/Austin/Tupper residence hall is one of two buildings that house our students in the Cultural Crossroads Learning Community. This residence hall is also home to a fully equipped classroom space, large kitchen area, and dynamic common space for students to interact.

    10. University Heights South

      Address: 90 University Heights

      Description: Located on Athletic Campus adjacent to the Patrick Gym, University Heights South serves as homes to students in the Sustainability Learning Community. This LEED Gold certified residence hall features a common area with a kitchen, an outside “green roof” area, and multiple study spaces for students to enjoy.
