    Stops

    1. Governors House

Governors House is located at the top of College Dr., within walking distance of Nipissing’s main building. This residence building features suite-style rooms, which consist of four bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a common living area and full kitchen. Some residence features and services include: cable service in each bedroom and common room, coin-operated laundry, games room, security entrances and video-monitored premises, and common areas on each floor for study groups or social gatherings. First-year students coming directly from high school and who receive full-time admission are guaranteed a single room in one of the suite-style residences.
    2. Lobby

The residence facilities provide a number of great resources for our students. They are not just a place to live, but a community. There are games rooms, assembly rooms for events, mail services, a service desk, and study spaces. The service desk provides information, help with mail, equipment lending for the game rooms, a tuck shop, and change for your laundry among other resources! Make sure to check out the calendar of events so you don’t miss out on any of the Residence Life programming, the therapy dog visits, or the grocery bus that takes students to a local grocery store.

    3. Don on Duty

Every floor of every residence has at least one Don. These are upper year students who live in the residence buidlings with you throughout the year. They are there to plan fun programming, so you get to know your neighbours, they’re also there as a resource for support throughout the year. They have training in First Aid and Mental Health and there is at least one Don on call 24/7. Whether you just want someone to chat with or you need assistance, they’re there for you
    4. Floors

Every floor in residence has their own unique sense of community. You’ll get to know not only your roommates but also your neighbours. Living on your own for the first time is exciting, but it can also be intimidating. With the programs run by the Residence Life staff you’ll be conquering independence in no time! From learning to cook, to doing laundry, they’ve got you covered. Each apartment is responsible for their routine cleaning and the removal of garbage. Every residence building has its own laundry facilities and they cost $1.50 (1 loonies and 2 quarters). There are wonderful maintenance staff available to help you with anything beyond routine cleaning of the space, for instance changing any burnt out lightbulbs for you.
    5. Tour suite

Nipissing University is proud to offer every single student in our residences their own private bedroom with a locking door. Whether that’s in one of our 3 apartment style buildings, or a town house style. If you are an Ontario high school student coming to Nipissing after graduation you are guaranteed one of these private rooms in our apartments. If you are not a high school student, you are still absolutely welcome to apply and spaces are awarded based on availability. The apartment style residences have 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living area, and kitchen. They come fully furnished with tables, chairs, fridge, oven, stove, bed, desk, and such. Students are responsible for bringing linens and any supplies they might need. If you know friends who are also planning on attending Nipissing University you can request to live together! If you don’t know anyone that’s okay, we hand pick roommates based on an extensive living styles questionnaire to find you the best possible matches.

Each furnished suite accommodates four students with single rooms and features a kitchen with fridge and stove, a living room and two full bathrooms. Governors House is located across from the athletics facilities, at the top of the hill.
