Completed in 1996, the 400-bed South Quad was the first residence hall built for the university's general student population in more than 20 years. It was also the first residence hall to exclusively feature single-occupancy bedrooms, configured in a suite style with a living space, kitchen and two bathrooms shared among four residents. The four-floor, stucco-finished quad includes traditional architectural styling such as Ionic columns.
