In 1902, six young women came together to fulfill their vision of forming an organization which promotes enduring friendships, the pursuit of knowledge, values-based living, and social responsibility. Upon these core ideals, these women founded Delta Zeta Sorority at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, making them the first sorority women at that university. The Pi Lambda Chapter of Delta Zeta was founded on March 27th, 2011. Since then, we have quickly become key members of our community, striving to live truly in our values and give graciously of what we have. Here at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, us Pi Lambda women take pride in our six core values: Friendship, Belonging, Curiosity, Generosity, Citizenship, and Empowerment. Being a Delta Zeta means living out these values in our everyday lives. We “give graciously” of what we have through our philanthropies for those affected by speech and hearing loss. This past year, we donated over $14,000 to the four incredible organizations that we support! Our sisters have impacted our community in different ways, big and small, through their generous acts of service. We strive to hold ourselves to a higher standard by being model women in our community. We build each other up and push each other to be strong, well rounded women in each of these values. Delta Zeta truly is an incredibly empowering sisterhood to be a part of.
