Stono Preserve is the College of Charleston's conservation classroom. The 891-acre property along the Stono River and the Intercostal Waterway contains a myriad of ecosystems including long-leaf pine forests, wetlands, savannahs, tidal marshes, as well as brackish, saltwater and fresh-water ponds. Students and faculty from many disciplines benefit from this laboratory.
