With the planned closure of Gilmer Street on Hurt Park’s south side and the removal of Sparks Hall — Gilmer Street Pedestrian Streetscape looks over the Greenway expansion to the University Library. This includes a renovated Arts & Humanities Building.
Access Impact:
Beginning Friday, Oct. 31, Gilmer Street will be closed from Peachtree Center Avenue to Courtland Street as part of the Sparks Hall demolition and Campus Greenway expansion project.
Sparks Hall, including the tunnel connecting the Campus Greenway to Gilmer Street, will not be accessible and should be considered a construction zone.
The Gilmer Street sidewalk and pedestrian access adjacent to the Arts & Humanities Building and Kopleff Recital Hall will remain open.
Access to the Library North entrance, the Campus Greenway, the Courtland Street stairs to the Greenway and Library Plaza will not be affected.
