Officially opened in 2012, the building was carefully designed and engineered to facilitate advanced molecular engineering research. The basement features the largest vibration free laboratory on the west coast. The facility is certified Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council in 2013, marking the building as a resource efficient and environmentally sustainable facility.
The Molecular Engineering & Sciences building is home to the Molecular Engineering & Sciences Institute, Molecular Analysis Facility, and Clean Energy Institute.
