        About:
The chapel is the oldest public building in Auburn on its original site. Built in 1850 as a Presbyterian church, it has had many uses as a Civil War hospital, civic center, USO, classroom and theatre. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The chapel was used for classrooms in 1887, when "Old Main" was destroyed by fire, and as a YMCA "Hut" during WWI. From the late 1920's until 1972, the Auburn Players presented productions in the building. In 1976, it was imaginatively restored by Professor of Architecture Nicholas Davis.
