The Nichols Center is named after William F. Nichols who attended Auburn on a full scholarship, served in the U.S. Army during WWII, awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, served eight years in the Alabama Legislature and then elected to Congress, served as AU trustee from 1968 until his death. It is currently used for Army, Air Force and Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps.
