Butler is a coed residence hall that is exclusive to first-year students.

The building was designed by Burk, LeBreton, and Lamantia architects and built in 1963.  Butler Hall, named in honor of Pierce Butler, a distinguished former professor and dean at Newcomb College, is an eight-story, co-ed building.  The first floor has a large common area with a pool table, TV, and study spaces. The upper floors have double occupancy rooms laid out in a square, with the elevator and common area in the center of each floor. Residents share a community restroom on each floor.

The Weatherhead desk, operational 24/7, serves as a resource hub for residents, offering assistance with key/access matters, security inquiries, and other concerns. For any assistance, residents can reach out to the Weatherhead desk at 504-865-4120.
