Also known as 1440 Canal, the Tidewater Building, houses the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
Designed by Kessels-Diboll-Kessels, it stands at a height of 288 feet. Originally built as the corporate office for Tidewater Marine in 1971, the building was later donated to Tulane University in 1993. It now serves as the main location for the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, with several other Tulane offices also housed within. Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, which caused significant flooding, the building underwent restoration and reopened in January 2006. Additionally, it hosts the antenna and transmitter for WWOZ, a local radio station broadcasting at 90.7 FM.
