The William Blacklock House was built around 1800. It is recognized as one of the nation's best examples of Adamesque architecture. The house underwent a major restoration in 1937 and was acquired by the College of Charleston in 1974. Currently, the house is used for social events and also houses the College's Division of Institutional Advancement. It was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1973.
