      1. College Outdoors

College Outdoors provides the Lewis & Clark community with access to the spectacular outdoor environments of the Pacific Northwest through a variety of activities, such as hiking, mushroom-hunting, cross-country skiing, backpacking, whitewater rafting, kayaking, and nature meditation. No experience is necessary! Trips are open to Lewis & Clark students (undergraduate, graduate, and law), staff, and faculty, and all gear is provided.

Events include day and weekend trips both semesters, Fall Break trips, Spring Break trips, and New Student Trips for incoming first-year undergraduate students. Participants find themselves exploring the mountains, rivers, deserts, and coasts that span Oregon, California, and Washington.

College Outdoors also maintains a large collection of outdoor and activity-specific gear available for rent to those who are planning a private trip.

Aside from recreation, College Outdoors offers practical leadership opportunities that benefit students beyond their time at Lewis & Clark. Our trips are led by leadership teams consisting entirely of students who are carefully trained. Students can also serve on the program's student steering committee.
