Named after Ivan Hinderaker, UCR's third and longest-serving chancellor, Hinderaker Hall includes many administrative and executive offices, including the Office of the Chancellor.
It’s also home to one of our coffee shops, named “Ivan’s” in honor of Ivan Hinderaker himself.
During the 60s and 70s, Hinderaker was known to welcome anti-war protesters into his office for doughnuts, one of the first to have an “open door policy.” If Ivan’s is open, consider stopping in for a drink or snack!
