611 North Pin Street
Building unlocked 6am – 8pm
Built in 1922, the Kilby School, named for then-Governor Thomas K. Kilby, was constructed just west of Wesleyan Hall. The eventual growth of the University was accompanied by an increase in the size of the campus which necessitated a plan for further expansion, so the now Kilby Laboratory School was moved to a new structure west of Pine Street in 1964.
The school currently includes students in kindergarten to sixth grade. Kilby is a public school, but UNA owns and operates it. Through this arrangement education majors are able to use the school for real world training during their UNA career. Children of UNA faculty and staff also have priority for admittance to Kilby over other students in the district.
