Pete Mathews Coliseum
Jacksonville State's home for men's and women's basketball and volleyball is Pete Mathews Coliseum, a 3,500-seat multipurpose facility that meets the growing needs of the University and its Athletics Department. The Coliseum was opened in 1974 and underwent a complete renovation in 2015 with the addition of new seats and a new playing floor. Following damage repairs from the 2018 EF-3 tornado that crossed JSU's campus, two new videoboards were installed in opposite corners of the arena. Basketball team lounges were also enhanced, while JSU's sports medicine relocated to a new space on the coliseum's first floor.
Pete Mathews Coliseum houses the athletic administration offices as well as staff offices for men's basketball, women's basketball, softball, volleyball, tennis, track & field, cross country, rifle and soccer.
