The new Randy Owen Center for the Performing Arts, or The ROC, at Jacksonville State University, will honor Owen's contributions to the arts and society while supporting the education and training of students.
To improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and workers at the ROC construction site, the university and city have agreed that a portion of 7th Street NE between Church Avenue NE and 2nd Avenue NE will be temporarily closed from mid-March to the end of construction in 2026.
