      1. Hickory House

        410 Three Oaks Drive

Located on the north side of Carleton’s Lilac Hill community, just steps away from the Rec Center, Hickory House is named after the hickory tree, which is a native plant in the nearby Arb. A draw house for student residents, Hickory has two distinct sides that are each split into an upper and lower unit, divided between individual rooms and a group draw space.

Built to passive house standards, Hickory and its Lilac Hill neighbors are designed to use 69 percent less energy annually than similar buildings built to meet current energy code standards — they even have rooftop solar panels, which generate enough electricity for each house to reach net zero energy usage!
