Stones from several Baylor University buildings, including Tryon Hall (located in Independence, TX) and Old Main, were used to build the Centennial Time Capsule Monument, which was dedicated on May 26, 1945, during Baylor’s centennial celebration. The time capsule beneath the monument contained items from the 1944-45 academic year, such as the Round-Up yearbook, Lariat newspapers, course catalogs, and various letters and recordings. In 2024, the monument and time capsule were moved from it's original location in Founders Mall due to construction of the Memorial to Enslaved Persons, and in 2025, they were relocated to Traditions Plaza, near the Immortal Ten Memorial and Carroll Field arch.
