Work Together
Located on the ground floor of the Science and Engineering Building, the Makerspace includes project assembly and meeting space, a design studio, a machine shop, a 3D printing room, and state-of-the-art equipment that will take the learning experience for engineering students to the next level.
The 17,000 square-foot Makerspace also includes collaborative components for the Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship to help faculty members and students take UTSA discoveries, products and services to market.
Resources Available:
- Project Area: Bench top space for teams with access to hand/power tools + electronics
- Conference Room: Large rooms for private team meetings and teleconferencing
- 3d Printers: Printers of different types capable of producing a variety of materials
- Design Studio: Multiple computer stations for CAD work
- Machine Shop: Lathes, drills presses, mills, grinders, and welding
- Lockers: Cage lockers of various sizes to store Senior Design projects
- Tools: Hand tools such as hammers, drills, calipers, and wrenches
- Electronics Fabrication Lab: Access to virtual benches, oscilloscopes, generators, soldering stations
