The Sombrilla Fountain is one of the most recognizable landmarks at UTSA. It stands in the middle of Sombrilla Plaza and brings a certain beauty to the Main Campus’ most popular hangout.
It can also bring you good luck, but only during finals. Touch the fountain wall on finals week, so campus legend goes, and you're on track for a good showing on your exams.
Fun Fact: The fountain is fully sustainable and uses only reclaimed water from the air conditioning systems in neighboring buildings. An idea proposed by students, the revitalized fountain uses "gray" water, which ensures it can remain operational year round without straining the water supply.
