Noll Laboratory, Established in 1973 by Elsworth R. Buskirk, Professor of Applied Physiology and Human Nutrition, was the nation's first free-standing research institute for the study of Human Performance. The lab is world-renowned for research to define human limits, improve health through exercise and lifestyle and understand the impact of environmental stresses on humans. Penn State's first intercollege graduate program, Physiology, was led by several faculty members affiliated with Noll Lab.
