205 Richmond Street West (RHA) is located on the what is sometimes known as the south campus, and home to OCAD University's Graduate Studies Program, research labs and various classroom and maker spaces. This culturally relevant property built in 1925 was historically known as the New Textile Building and is associated with a second wave of commercial development of Toronto's King and Spadina neighbourhood in the 20th century. At that time, the area was Toronto's main industrial district filled with large-scale warehouses, factories and office buildings that had replaced earlier, low-rise structures. Some of the unique features of the building that contribute to its cultural value are the materials it is built with, such as the buff brick and stone cladding, stone motif details in the corner bays, and the main entrance's stone surround with classical detailing and the inscription reading, "New Textile Building".
