Now a Toronto architectural landmark, the iconic Rosalie Sharp Centre for Design opened in 2004 as part of a major $42.5-million campus redevelopment. Located on what is sometimes called OCAD University's north campus, the award-winning, black and white "tabletop" structure stands above OCAD University's main campus building on 12 multi-coloured steel legs. The centre is named after benefactors Rosalie and Isadore Sharp, and is home many facilities used by OCAD U's Faculty of Design. It was designed by acclaimed British architect Will Alsop in partnership with Toronto-based Robbie/Young + Wright Architects Inc., along with structural engineers from Carruthers & Wallace Ltd. and MCW Consultants Ltd.

The main building, built in 1952 as an expansion to the George Reid Wing, is home to the majority of OCAD U's maker spaces, shops and studios, including the Fabrication Centre, and the programs of the Faculty of Art and Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

The historic George Reid Wing is the original 1921 campus building of the Ontario College of Art (OCA) and was the first building in Canada built specifically for the purpose of the education of professional artists and designers.
