404 Three Oaks Drive
Located on the south side of Carleton’s Lilac Hill community, Aster House overlooks Lower Lyman Lake and is named for the daisy-like flower that is native to the Arb (and very important for pollinators). A draw house for student residents, Aster has two distinct sides that are each split into an upper and lower unit, divided between individual rooms and a group draw space.
Built to passive house standards, Aster and its Lilac Hill neighbors are designed to use 69 percent less energy annually than similar buildings built to meet current energy code standards — they even have rooftop solar panels, which generate enough electricity for each house to reach net zero energy usage!
