When local resident and self-taught naturalist, Carl Richter presented his collection of more than 11,000 egg sets (including nests and field notes) to the University, the Richter Museum of Natural History was born. Located in Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, the museum is a priceless repository of bird and mammal specimens and a nationally-recognized resource for research on animal populations, migration, breeding and more. We also have one of the largest spider collections in the States… but that’s another story.
