Compost Facility
Middlebury College operates our own composting facility on campus. Food waste, as well as compostable dish ware, from the dining halls and bins in all buildings are mixed with horse manure and wood chips and is composted in large, open-air windrows at the edge of the golf course. Finished compost is used on athletic fields, in landscaping and at the Knoll.
