Newman Lake is among the most photographed spots on JMU's picturesque campus. A pathway along Bluestone Drive and around Newman encourages visitors to walk or bike its perimeter.
Home to courses such as ISAT 112: Environmental Issues in Science and Technology, Newman underwent massive environmental improvements in 2014 including the addition of a reservoir to collect pollutants and sediments, and installation of an aquatic bench for filtration and habitat restoration.
