From Les Misérables to Larry The Cable Guy
The house lights dim, the curtain opens, and one more performance is enhanced just by being on the stage of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. How? We invite you to catch a show and let your ears be the judge.
Inspired by classic Italian opera houses like La Scala in Milan, Italy, the hall is considered acoustically perfect for both audience and performers. Since opening in 1993, hundreds of artists have graced the stage, included Yo-Yo Ma, Jerry Seinfeld, Bobby McFerrin and Emmylou Harris to name a few. Theatrical productions like The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The Fiddler on the Roof, Cats, and Rent continue to delight packed houses.
The Weidner Center offers internationally-renown cultural, entertainment and educational performances in a world-class facility. In addition to its schedule of featured performances, the Weidner Center serves as a learning space for student artists and those studying Arts Management.
The main performance space, Cofrin Family Hall, seats more than 2,000 patrons and offers outstanding concert hall acoustics. The Center’s Grand Foyer proudly features a magnificent chandelier created by international glass artist Dale Chihuly.
