    1. UP - University Police

      Rest assured that you're safe as can be while on campus. The CSUSB Police Department is a state law enforcement agency which employs 18 sworn police officers and an active support staff for 24-hour protection of the campus community. The department is responsible for the 471-acre north San Bernardino campus with its 20,000 students, faculty and staff, and outlying residential, canyon and foothills. The CSUSB Police Department serves an area of 480-acres and 2.5 square miles. The police officers of this department have statewide police authority, and are vested with law enforcement powers and responsibilities, identical to the municipal police or sheriff's departments in our community. The CSUSB Police Department was established in Jan. 23, 1974 and strives to provide "Quality Service" by providing professional service with honor, integrity, and a commitment to excellence to the community. This department seeks to perform its mission through diligent crime prevention, victim assistance, disaster preparedness, and problem-oriented policing.
