The Library of the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies has multiple collections including editions of texts and archival materials, and catalogues of manuscripts held in libraries around the world. There is a special strength in medieval philosophy and theology; but the collection is also very strong in history, law, liturgy, and literature.

Access to the Library is normally granted to U of T faculty and graduate students who need to consult unique copies or materials not otherwise accessible. Every reasonable opportunity to use the library is also given to visiting scholars, particularly guests of the Institute.
