            This green roof is part of an experimental initiative focused on cooling the environment, managing stormwater and reducing urban heat. The Green Roof Innovation Testing Laboratory (GRIT Lab) studies plant and soil combinations, irrigation methods, and cooling effects. The green roofs reduce temperatures by about 2°C through evapotranspiration, save energy compared to traditional roofs, and help manage stormwater. The lab also explores innovative irrigation using cistern-collected rainwater and investigates how plants can filter pollutants.
