Just off South Padre Island Drive in Flour Bluff, this large extension of the Island University is home to the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center. The Innovation Center is part of the College of Business and is designed so that students, local entrepreneurs and client companies can test drive ventures under the guidance of seasoned business professionals. On the third floor of the Innovation Center is the Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence & Innovation Mission Control room, which monitors unmanned drone flights and collects data for research in geospatial computing, coastal mapping and related areas.
