John Marshall Statue
The $118,000 bronze statue of John Marshall was created by sculptor William Behrends of Tryon, N.C. and unveiled on October 23rd 1998.This eight-foot statue stands outside the John Deaver Drinko Library facing John Marshall Drive.The six-foot base is engraved with the words "Revolutionary soldier. Definer of the Constitution. Devoted husband and father."John Marshall served in the Revolutionary War, pioneered the West Virginia territory and served as the fourth chief justice of the Supreme Court.
