      1. Visual Arts Center (VAC)

The Visual Arts Center is located at 927 Third Avenue, which is directly across from Pullman Square in downtown Huntington. In 2014, a state-of-the-art and exemplary renovation was completed on this historic 66,600 square-foot facility that houses studios for painting, drawing, graphic design, weaving and fibers, printmaking; as well as specialized labs for textiles, dark room photography, paper making and Mac computer labs equipped for cinematography and digital photography. It also features technology-rich classrooms for art education and art history and a 2,200 square-foot gallery on the main floor, faculty studios adjacent to studio classrooms and labs, and offices for the School of Art and Design on the sixth floor. The Art Warehouse is the partner to this facility and houses the ceramics and sculpture studios for these programs, and with the Birke Art Gallery in Smith Hall on campus, completes this School’s facilities. The center also will house the university’s Brad D. Smith Business Incubator, beginning in April 2019.
