Border Health Office
The various institutions of The University of Texas (UT) System have long been involved in health-related activities along the Texas-Mexico Border. Recognizing the need for coordinating these activities, The UT Rio Grande Valley College of Health Professions Border Health Office (BHO) was created in 1990. For over 28 years, the BHO has been an important visible and viable community resource contributing to the local community, the region and the entire state of Texas. The BHO, the Diabetes Registry and the Texas Risk Assessment for Type 2 Diabetes in Children Program and have brought local, regional, state, national and international recognition for UTRGV and the Rio Grande Valley border.
