As of January 4, Pittsburgh Regional Transit has discontinued use of the contraflow bus lane along Fifth Avenue. Routes that previously used that lane will now travel along Forbes Avenue.
Additionally, PRT is performing work throughout the Fifth Avenue corridor that requires them to intermittently close certain crosswalks, sidewalks, or lanes. The impacted areas change as work progresses, so please pay attention to your surroundings and follow all provided safety signage.
Beginning May 5, PRT will reopen the rightmost lanes of Fifth Avenue and begin working on the two leftmost lanes (including the previous contraflow bus lane). Please note that there may still be closures along the right side of Fifth Avenue due to ongoing work by other businesses.
