As of January 4, Pittsburgh Regional Transit has discontinued use of the contraflow bus lane along Fifth Avenue. Routes that previously used that lane will now travel along Forbes Avenue.
Additionally, PRT is performing work throughout the Fifth Avenue corridor that requires them to intermittently close certain crosswalks, sidewalks, or lanes. The impacted areas change as work progresses, so please pay attention to your surroundings and follow all provided safety signage.
PRT is creating the new bus lanes along Fifth and Forbes Avenues over the span of four evenings, beginning August 10. Once this work is complete, the rightmost lane of both Fifth and Forbes will be exclusively for buses only. Motorists should stay alert for these updated traffic patterns.
