Shuford Arena is home to the Lenoir-Rhyne men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as the Bears' volleyball program. It has a capacity of 2,300 and was erected in the memory of the late A. Alex Shuford Sr.
The student section, referenced as Bear Nation, welcomes LR students with free admission to all home athletic events. LR athletic events typically have the largest attendance for fans in the entire South Atlantic Conference.
Personal Story:
I love going to all of the athletic events here at LR! A third of our student population are athletes, so I know a lot of them. My roommate actually plays tennis. When I go to athletic events I am not just cheering on athletes, I am cheering on my friends!
