    1. Delius House

Delius House is the Florida home of composer Frederick Delius. The home was originally located at Solano Grove, about 40 miles south of Jacksonville on the St. Johns River. The University received the house as a gift from Mrs. Martha Bullard Richmond after she rediscovered -- and purchased -- the decaying old home in 1943. The house was moved to campus from Solano Grove in 1961. A marker on the front of the house reads, "Delius House. This house was the home in 1884-1885 of the English composer Frederick Delius. Until 1961 it stood in Solano Grove, Picolata, at which time Mrs. Henry L. Richmond deeded the house and site to the University. The Delius Trust in London and other donors have contributed generously to its reconstruction here. Delius House will be used as a museum of Deliana and a music practice building."
