Built in 1922 to house the University's medical school, the building was originally named after the founder of the school, Dr. Josiah Nott. Biology took over the building in 1945 when the medical school moved to Birmingham. After an addition and extensive remodeling, the building reopened in 1975 to house the Departments of Behavioral Science, Microbiology, Community Medicine, Internal Medicine. Now home to: Biological Sciences (Annex) and the Honors College including the University Honors Program, Randall Research Scholars Program and the University Fellows Program.
The building was renamed to Honors Hall on August 5, 2020 during a specially called meeting of the Board of Trustees.
