      1. John C. Hodges Library

         The John C. Hodges Library, the largest in the state of Tennessee, was built in 1969 for undergraduates. A major renovation in 1987 turned it into a facility for all students. It is named for late professor and head of the English Department John C. Hodges. He is best known for producing the Harbrace College Handbook, a standard reference for English composition.
