If you love to write and read, this is the place for you. The Philadelphia Alumni Writers House is a literary performance space for the entire college community, a podium for hundreds of world-class and emerging authors. Among past authors to visit the Writers House are Frank McCourt, Amy Tan, David Foster Wallace, Carmen Maria Machado, and Rebecca Skloot.
All of F&M's literary publications are produced by students in the Writers House. The space also hosts game nights, sketch-comedy nights, open-mic nights, and creative writing and poetry readings.
In the spring, the Writers House celebrates the Emerging Writers Festival, bringing to campus five young writers for three days of discussions, workshops and social events. It's a great opportunity for students to learn firsthand the rewards and challenges of becoming a professional writer.
