Nixon Annex was built as a result of a gift from Dr. William P. Nixon, a noted Wilmington physician who has supported athletic programs In high schools, the Wilmington community and at the university.

The Nixon Annex, adjacent to Trask Coliseum, is a multi-use facility that caters to the needs of UNCW students, faculty and staff as well as the Wilmington community. The Golden Hawk Room, a large meeting area on the second floor, is used for special meetings and events.
