1731 College Street (Barringer House)
The former home of Flora M. Barringer, located on the corner of College and Barnwell streets, served for many years as the university's Alumni House after it was acquired through a gift-purchase by the university's foundations. A formal garden behind the Georgian-style home was designed by George Baetsil, who landscaped many Columbia residences. Plans call for future renovation of the house and garden for use as an event venue.
