TRAIL ETIQUETTE
- Stay on the trail
- Use bridges for water crossing
- Keep dogs leashed and obey the ‘poop and scoop’ By-law
- Do not come within 1 meter of river banks
- No cigarette butts on the trail
- Smokers butt out completely to avoid fire
- Do not damage plants or wildlife
- No hunting
- No motorized vehicles
- No fires or fireworks
- No camping
- No alcohol
- No biking
- Do not litter
- Do not climb on rocks
Respect of these rules will keep our trails beautiful for years to come!
TRAIL SAFETY
Hikers use trail at own risk
- Watch your step for slippery surfaces, rocks or washouts
- Ensure your children are within sight at all times
- Leave a trip plan with a friend
- If lost, make yourself visible and wait until help arrives
- Make noise (talking, bear bell, whistle) while walking to alert bears you’re in the area
- If you see a bear slowly back away while watching the bear and wait for it to leave

Campus Trail Difficulty Rating
The following is a general description of the hike ratings. These ratings should help you to select trails that match your interests and capabilities.
Easy
Smooth surface with flat to rolling terrain.
Moderate
Smooth areas along with roots, rocks and some logs. Trails uneven with some steep sections.
Difficult
Roots, rocks and some logs. Significant elevation changes.
Very Difficult
The majority of the walk takes place on very difficult terrain. Major elevation changes and steep sections.
